If you could erase one trend from history, what would it be?
We are living in a world where everyone is a videographer. Where anything can happen and everyone is whipping out their phone to record it.

Don’t get me wrong, some things do need to be recorded so there is clear information and lies are brought forward. However, somethings just don’t need to be recorded. I recently saw a video on Facebook. The girl being recorded seemed like she was having a mental health breakdown or she may have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. Her family may have thought they were completing an intervention with her by taking her phone, blocking her exit, telling her she needed help, and calling the police on her.
What I saw was mayhem, confusion, and inappropriate strategies. In instances like this, social media should not have access to things as such. A mental health screener probably should have been called, who would have came out with a police officer. The screener is trained to provide help and the officer is there for support. The other children probably needed to go to their rooms as not to agitate the situation and approaches.
I immediately spoke up because as a society, we must do better in situations like this. I am not blaming the family because they may not be equipped with the right information to help her. What I am doing is helping individuals under the moralities of the matter.
Check out the link below. This is information the family may have needed.
