When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?
When I was 19 years old, I had just entered my sophomore year in college. I was working, had a car, stayed on campus, and was fending for myself. Well, my mother was still paying for car insurance, but everything else was on me. I was buying groceries, paying for car insurance, and buying my own clothes (With credit cards of course )

The year before, I had instructed my mother not to continue to bring me groceries to school each week. I mean, my roommate was loving it, but I was definitely on to Freshman 15 and needed to slow down before it turned into Freshman 20. I was not ungrateful for my mom’s helpful. I appreciated her. I just knew that in order for me to stop relying on her and step into my power/womanhood I needed to tell her that. It was the best decision I had ever made.
