The Collage of Support

This past weekend, I attended the Columbus Book Festival, which was developed by the Columbus Metropolitan Library. What an amazing event. There were a lot of authors who sat at their table for two straight days, promoting their creative works. The energy from the authors and customers were amazing.

On the first day, there was an amazing amount of traffic that entered the Indie Author Alley with the sole purpose of interacting with authors and purchasing books. While others who attended did not realize they wanted a particular book until they interacted with an author.

The second day was just as amazing. There were a lot of new customers and repeat customers. Some ranged from the ages of 3 months to 70 years old. If I had to guess, there were even individuals older than 70 years old. The library estimated that there were over 33,000 people in attendance. That is just amazing! To hold your very first book festival and have so many people in attendance.

The food trucks were amazing. On Saturday, I had a walking taco from Tortilla and a chicken sandwich from Flavor 91 Bistro. Both were a delight. The walking taco was a mix of rice, beans, chicken, peppers, cilantro, guacamole, and chipotle sauce with tortilla chips. The chicken sandwich had a bit of sweetness and and a kick to it. It wasn’t too sweet or spicy. It was just right. Definitely places to visit in the near future.

I made a lot of different connections from authors to Ohioana. More about Ohioana coming in another post.
